MAN FACING CHARGES IN HOWK HIT-AND-RUN

A St. Paul man has been charged in connection with the hit-and-run New Year’s morning that seriously injured a New Ulm native.  Maurice Carter faces one count of criminal vehicular operation in connection with the incident that injured Michaela Howk.  Investigators said they talked with Carter on Tuesday and he allegedly admitted to hitting Howk and then driving off.  He turned himself in Wednesday.  Carter faces up to five years in prison if he is convicted.
