MAN KILLED WHILE WALKING IN RURAL SIBLEY COUNTY

A man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle as he walked in rural Sibley County early Friday morning.  The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office was called at 2:36 am to627th Avenue just south of Gibbon.  Authorities say 54-year-old Dino Bastian of rural Gibbon was walking south on  County Road 2 when he was hit by a Chevy Colorado driven by 47-year-old Timothy Jon Albrecht of Gibbon.  Authorities say Bastian was found dead at the scene.  The Colorado sustained moderate front end damage.  The crash is currently under investigation.  Gibbon Rescue, Winthrop ambulance, the state patrol and Five Star Towing assisted at the scene.
