MANHUNT ENDS, BOELTER ARRESTED
An intense manhunt for the man accused of shooting two state lawmakers and their spouses ended Sunday night in Sibley County. 57-year-old Vance Boelter surrendered amid drones and SWAT teams. At around 7 pm Sunday evening, a Sibley County resident reported that their trail camera captures an image that “was consistent” with Boelter and SWAT officers and deputies were immediately deployed to the area. Boelter is due to make his first court appearance this (Monday) afternoon. He is facing two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in Hennepin County. Governor Walz has ordered flags lowered to half-staff to honor fallen House Speaker Melissa Hortman. Homes and businesses are encouraged to lower their flags.
