Margaret Ann Trnka
Margaret Ann Trnka passed peacefully in her home on January 23, 2025. Margaret was born to Cecil and Helen (Chelmosky) Pagel in Saint Paul MN on October 11, 1945.
The third of six children, she grew up in Mendota Heights, MN and graduated from Saint Joseph’s Academy in 1963. After graduation, she went to work at West Publishing as an Administrative Assistant. She married the love of her life, Clarence Trnka, in Lonsdale on February 8, 1974. She left West Publishing in 1976 to embrace her most rewarding work: raising her two children, Bradley and Renee. In 1988, she went to work for Malt-O-Meal and stayed there until her retirement in 2010. Margaret loved to travel, especially in their RV. She loved being a snowbird, spending many winters in Weslaco, TX, enjoying trips to South Padre Island and meals out with all their friends. She loved being a grandma to her two grandchildren, Charlie and Helen.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clarence, her two children, Bradley (Dana) Trnka and Renee (Christopher) Toenies, her two grandchildren, Charles and Helen Toenies, her sisters Katherine (Leonard) McFadden, Lois (Raymond) Tuma, and Ruth (Kevin) Douglas, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Helen Pagel, her in-laws, Edward and Agnes Trnka, her brother James, her sister Mary Adamek and brother-in-law John Adamek Sr., and her nephews, Steven Rezac and Jesse Trnka.
Visitation at White’s Funeral Home in Lonsdale on Saturday, February 1 st will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale at 11. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. A lunch will follow at the American Legion in Lonsdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to Home for Life Animal Sanctuary (homeforlife.org).
