Mark Collier – all-University Horace T. Morse – University of Minnesota Alumni Association Award
Mark Collier, Professor of Philosophy at University of Minnesota Morris, is a 2025 recipient of the all-University Horace T. Morse – University of Minnesota Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education. The award honors faculty who excel in teaching, research, creative activities, advising, academic program development, and educational leadership.
His efforts in program development have had a significant impact – raising enrollment in the major by 150 percent – and the Chancellor has presented it as a model for how small programs at U of M Morris can adapt to enrollment challenges. Collier joined the U of M Morris faculty in 2005. His current research is focused on the rapid explosion of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
