Marlene J. Bertrang

Marlene J. Bertrang died unexpectedly on December 13, 2025. She was born in Devils Lake,
North Dakota on April 12, 1935 to Alex and Eva (Schela) Kuntz. She graduated from Sebeka
High School in 1953. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and worked in various
administrative positions. She always talked fondly of the years she lived there with her
girlfriends. In 1956, she met Myron Bertrang and immediately knew they would someday marry.
On February 9, 1957, Myron and Marlene married at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in
Menahga, MN and 68 years of adventure followed. The couple moved to Le Sueur, Minnesota
and had four children who were the greatest joy of her life. As much as she loved motherhood,
Marlene also greatly enjoyed working as a doctor’s assistant for Dr. Limbeck and others.
Marlene loved sewing and cooking for her family. In her later years, Marlene and Myron spent
many happy years traveling and wintering in Florence, Arizona. She was at her happiest when
she was hosting large family gatherings and weekly coffees with her girlfriends. Marlene is
survived by her devoted husband Myron; her beloved children Mary Miller, Mark Bertrang
(Betty), Michelle Bertrang, and Mitchell Bertrang (Maureen), eight grandchildren, eleven great
grandchildren, siblings Robert Kuntz (Mary), Kathleen Wellmann (Eugene) and numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister
Dalores Kern (Ken) and her brother Donald Kuntz (Mary).

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, December 20, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Anne, 217
North Third Street, Le Sueur, Minnesota. Visitation at Kolden Funeral Service, Friday, December
19, 2025 beginning with a 3:45 p.m. C.C.W. Rosary and going from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 11:30 a.m. ~ 12:45 p.m. at the Kolden
Funeral Home. We will then process to St. Anne’s Church for the 1:00 p.m. Mass. Burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur, followed by lunch at St. Anne’s School. In lieu of flowers,
donations appreciated to St. Anne’s School, 503 N. 4th St, Le Sueur, MN 56058
