Marsha was born to Leonard and Gertrude [Schnitzler] Hoffman in Morris, MN, on January 29th, 1952. She was the 5th of 10 children to grow up on the farm south of Hancock, attending public school there through her sophomore year, and then graduating from Morris in 1970. Marsha was united in marriage to Donald Timmerman on December 5th, 1970. After several years of marriage Don and Marsha welcomed two boys, Terry and Larry. Marsha was a devoted mother, rarely missing ball games or school activities.
When both boys were in college, Marsha returned to school at Alexandria Technical College, earning an LPN degree in 1 year while continuing to work. She was employed for 24 years at the Villa of St. Francis in Morris. Don and Marsha moved off the farm south of Hancock in 2011 and relocated to the north end of Lake Osakis where they enjoyed 13 years in their lake home with beautiful views. In the fall of 2024, they moved into Osakis to a home that would better accommodate them as they aged.
Weeks ago, Marsha started experiencing health complications. She was well cared for and kept as comfortable as possible in her last days and hours. Marsha was blessed to be surrounded by family in those final moments. She told Don that her work here was done, and it was time to go. She told her boys to take care of Dad as he will need both of you. Once again, thinking of others first, she reminded Don not to miss family birthdays.
Marsha will be remembered for her generous spirit and exceptional hugs. She took great strides to make sure her family was taken care of. She adored her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, always ready to put a puzzle together or play games. She will be deeply missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Donald Timmerman; sons: Terry (Connie) Timmerman and Larry (Janet) Timmerman; six grandchildren: Courtney (Justin) Luginbuhl, Tyler (Brooke) Timmerman, Carissa Timmerman, Catrina Timmerman, Soren Timmerman, and Clyde Timmerman; four great-grandchildren: Jentry Luginbuhl, Cohen Luginbuhl, Miles Timmerman, and Adlie Timmerman; siblings Diane (Don) Fischer, Donna (Dwight) Quandt, Becky Kotz, Sandy Hoffman, Dan (Dee) Hoffman, Jerry (Colleen) Hoffman, and Wendy (Jim) Howe; sister-in-law: Linda Hoffman; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Gertrude [Schnitzler]; brothers David Hoffman and Ron Hoffman; brother-in-law: Gene Kotz; and sister-in-law: Ginny Hoffman.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS MEMORIALS IN MARSHA’S HONOR ARE PREFERRED.
