Marsha Sue Sullivan, age 49 of Le Sueur, passed away on June 26, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN following a battle with cancer. The service will be livestreamed on the First Lutheran Church website at https://www.firstlutheranlesueur.org/. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery.

Marsha was born on August 21, 1975 in Le Sueur to William and Sharon (Shaver) Pinney. She attended and graduated from Le Sueur Henderson High School in 1993. Following high school, Marsha attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, earning her degree in nursing. After college graduation in 1997, she traveled to San Francisco, CA where she spent a year working as a home health nurse. Upon return from San Francisco, she continued her career as a registered nurse at Mankato Mayo hospital, and later at Shakopee St. Francis working in several areas before finding her passion in Labor & Delivery, where she spent most her career. During the last five years, Marsha worked from home as a triage nurse for Health Partners, which afforded more flexibility to be available for her kids.

Marsha married Jim Sullivan on March 23, 2002 at Gustavus Christ Chapel in St. Peter. Together they settled in Le Sueur where they raised three wonderful children; Emily, Leo and Caleb. Marsha was actively involved in her community and church as a leader, volunteer and friend. She served as a volunteer at the Le Sueur Library, Le Sueur Schools, and Food Shelf. Marsha was a 4H group leader, and a youth group / confirmation leader at First Lutheran Church. She was a tee-ball coach, an unofficial team photographer for Caleb’s sporting teams, and de facto nurse hotline for her entire network of friends and family.

Marsha enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, hiking, reading, puzzles, board games, and crafts – including rock painting. She loved spending time with her friends and family; and especially enjoyed watching her kids do what they loved. She was the #1 fan for all of her kids’ activities.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Jim Sullivan; children, Emily, Leo and Caleb Sullivan of Le Sueur; siblings, Richard Pinney of Le Sueur, Belinda (Joe) Hollman of Maple Grove, and Janice (Jeff) Johnston of St. Louis Park; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, William (2006) and Sharon (2025), and her sister, Kristine (1989).

Marsha faced every challenge with grace and optimism, and she had the biggest heart. She will be missed more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Le Sueur Food Shelf.
