Martha Lillian (Sticha) Kodada

Martha Lillian (Sticha) Kodada, 81, died on May 13, 2025 at the J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice Facility, following a series of medical issues. Martha was born on April 12, 1944 to William and Ludmilla (Schoenbauer) Sticha in Northfield, MN. She had three daughters, Tamara, Rebecca, and Kari, whom she cherished. She was their biggest supporter and made many sacrifices to ensure they had everything they needed.

She worked at Tikalsky’s grocery store for many years, before moving on to Ryt-Way and Malt-O-Meal, in Northfield, MN. She retired from Malt-O-Meal in 2010. One of her favorite things to do was watch her son-in-law Steve race at Elko Speedway; she rarely missed a race. After Steve finished racing, she still attended as many races possible to cheer on her favorite drivers.

Martha was a stoic woman who strongly believed in her Christian faith. She enjoyed spending time with friends, canning, gardening, baking, and watching soap operas and game shows. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never hesitated to assist with their care.

Martha is survived by her two daughters, Tammy (Steve) and Becky; son-in-law, Ted; grandchildren, Christina, Gavin, Cody, Paige, Morgan, Kiara, Nathan, and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Riley, Scarlett, and another due in June; siblings Mary, Donald, and Sue (Steve); and her beloved cat, Mesha, who meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kari, her parents, brother-in-law Mike, sister-in-law Grace, and niece Sheri.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice Facility for their exceptional and compassionate care of Martha.

Martha will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday May 29, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 202 S.E. Alabama St., Lonsdale, MN. Visitation 9-10 at White Funeral Home, Lonsdale, MN.
