McCarthy to sit another week, Wentz will start

(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback J-J McCarthy won’t return to his starting duties for at least another week. Vikes head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters yesterday that veteran back up Q-B Carson Wentz will start under center against the Chargers tomorrow night in Los Angeles. Wentz is 2-2 since taking over for McCarthy, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week Two. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 7:15 P-M. In other team news, running back Aaron Jones was designated for return from injury. Jones is recovering from a hamstring issue.
