McCarthy Will Play In Saturday’s Preseason Game

(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings’ fans will get to see quarterback J-J McCarthy in game action later this week. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters prior to last night’s training camp practice that McCarthy will start Saturday’s exhibition game against the Houston Texans. McCarthy suffered a season-ending knee injury during last year’s preseason opener. The Vikes held their annual night practice last night at team headquarters in front of a full house at T-C-O Stadium. Saturday’s game gets underway at 3 P-M at U-S Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. In other team news, the Vikes signed free agent tight end Nick Vannett and waived offensive lineman Marcellus Johnson.
