Meeker County Approves Local Option Sales Tax

The Meeker County Board of Commissioners has approved a resolution for implementing a local option sales tax.

The .5% or half-cent tax will go toward funding transportation projects.

Commissioner Steve Schmitt:

Schmitt says Meeker County is one of the last counties in the area to use the state approved option.

County officials say it will generate an estimated $1.3-million in local transportation revenue.
