Meeker County House Fires

A house was destroyed by fire late Friday morning in Meeker County.

At just before 11am, crews responded to the fire in the 60000 Block of 380th Street in Manannah Township.

On arrival, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The homeowners 23-year-old Emma Frovarp and 31-year-old Jorge Gomez were not home at the time.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation with the State Fire Marshal.

Early Monday morning, a house south of Paynesville was destroyed by fire.

At about 1:30am, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire in the 39000 block of Highway 4 in Union Grove Township.

When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed.

The house was owned by 67-year-old Denise Nohner and 54-year-old Brian Nohner. Both were in the house when they noticed the fire; however, they were able to get out of the house safely.

It’s believed that a cigarette that was outside of the house caused the outside of the house to start on fire and then spread to the inside.
