Minnesota Deer Season was strong

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota deer hunters had a strong season in 2025. The Department of Natural Resources reports the statewide deer harvest was up nine-percent from last year and 5% above the five-year average. Preliminary figures show hunters harvested 186,203 deer during the season, with every region of the state posting gains. Central and southeastern Minnesota saw an eight-percent increase over 2024 and an 11-percent jump compared to the five-year average. In the northeast, hunters harvested 14-percent more deer, a boost attributed to two consecutive mild winters.
