Minnesota Law Enforcement at Inauguration

More than 2 dozen Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived Saturday in the nation’s capital to help with security for the presidential inauguration.

They join over 200 officers from Minnesota who were invited by the D.C. Metropolitan Police and even more nationwide to help keep the event safe and secure.

This is the sixth straight inauguration HCSO deputies have helped.

All costs for the trip are reimbursed by the D.C. Metropolitan Police.

More than 3,800 law enforcement officers from around the nation were sworn in by US Marshals Sunday morning.

HCSO is part of the 172 agencies helping the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department keep the event safe and secure.
