Minnesota’s Bass population is in a good spot

(Undated/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is excited about what a year-long bass season could mean for the state’s anglers. Area Fisheries Manager Eric Altena says the state’s bass population is in a good spot. He says they’ve been tracking and researching bass fishing for more than 25 years and are happy with what they are seeing. He says almost all of their research of electric fishing, catch rates, and gill net data indication the population abundance is increasing, as is the size of the average bass fish in Minnesota.
