MINOR FLOODING ON MINNESOTA RIVER, OFFICIALS URGE YOU TO STAY OFF

The Minnesota River at New Ulm is experiencing minor flooding and will continue to do so in the coming days.  As of Wednesday morning, the stage was 800.9 feet, flood stage at 800 feet.  It is forecast to crest around 803 in a few days with rain in the forecast this weekend.  New Ulm Police Chief Dave Borchert says city officials are monitoring the river but there isn’t great concern.  He does want you to stay off the river though as long as it is at flood stage or higher.  Borchert says there isn’t any concern of flooding with the Cottonwood River.
