MN’S KINDERGARTEN MEASLES VACCINATION RATE AMONG NATION’S LOWEST

Minnesota health officials report the state has one of the lowest measles vaccination rates for kindergartners in the country.  According to the Department of Health, coverage dropped sharply from just over 92-percent before the pandemic to 86.5-percent, well below the national average.  The decline has been most pronounced in private and charter schools.  Measles is highly contagious and can linger in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves.
