More Vehicles Break Through Area Lake Ice

A couple more vehicles partially broke through area lake ice recently.

On Thursday evening, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a pickup that had gone through the ice on Horseshoe Lake near Eastway Court in Munson Township.

The caller said the driver, 30-year-old Joshua Blommer of Richmond, escaped without injury.

On Saturday night, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle that had gone through the ice near the Rush Brown Access on Green Lake.

On arrival, authorities determined that the vehicle had partially fallen through in front of the Old Mill Inn after passing through the thin ice signs.

It was ultimately determined that the occupants had exited the vehicle and were safe.

Authorities say that incident is still under investigation.
