Motorcyclist Arrested after Chase in Meeker County

A 37-year-old Watkins man was arrested after Meeker County authorities received a report of a motorcyclist driving at speeds over 100 MPH, back and forth through Watkins on Highway 55 Sunday evening.

At just after 6:30pm, a deputy observed the motorcyclist speeding near the intersection of Highway 55 and Meeker County Road 17. The driver accelerated away from the deputy when a traffic stop was initiated and led the deputy on a pursuit spanning two miles. The motorcyclist then pulled into a residence and fled on foot before being taken into custody with charges pending.

Authorities say the driver had failed to register the motorcycle and put fake plates on it that read “Will Run.”
