Mullin Confirmed as DHS Secretary, Minnesota Senators Vote ‘No’

(Learfield News/Washington, DC) — Minnesota’s senators did not support Senator Markwayne Mullin’s confirmation as Department of Homeland Security secretary.

The Oklahoma Republican was confirmed Monday on a 54-45 vote.

Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith voted “no.”

Smith said she, “does not have confidence that Mullin will change the Trump administration’s reckless, dangerous and illegal immigration enforcement activity.” Mullin replaces former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
