Name Released In Officer Involved Shooting

An Oklahoma man is out of the hospital and awaiting charges following an officer involved shooting Monday near Crookston. 

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Caleb Coffey (34) was driving erratically and at high speed when he entered Polk County from Marshall County on Monday morning.

Sheriff’s Officials say the pursuit started in North Dakota at the Pembina Port of Entry when Coffey was confronted by US Customs and Border Protections. The pursuit continued south on Highway 75 into Crookston and through downtown. 

The 2011 Black Cadillac Coffey was driving stopped on County Road 9, where there was an officer involved shooting. Coffey suffered minor injuries. He has been released from the Hospital and has been transported to the Northwest Regional Correctional Center where he awaits charges.

The officer involved shooting is being investigated by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
