NAMING RIGHTS CONSIDERED FOR NEW ULM GYM

The New Ulm High School gymnasium could be going by a new name soon.  The district is working with the New Ulm Medical Center/Allina Health on a naming rights agreement to name the gym “Allina Gymnasium.”  New Ulm School Superintendent Sean Koster informed the school board last month that athletic trainer fees were rising rapidly.  Allina Health’s annual athletic trainer fees were over $2900 in 2022-2023 and are projected to rise to $31,500 next year.  Koster presented a potential agreement to reduce costs to the trainer fee program.  Allina Health has tentatively agreed to contribute an in-kind donation of $115,000 to New Ulm Public Schools in exchange for the gym naming rights fee.
