NCAA Baseball and Softball Results from Minnesota Teams
(Mankato, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota State-Mankato baseball team lost its opening game of the N-C-A-A Division II Regional in Mankato yesterday. The visiting Arkansas-Monticello club beat them 5-3, pushing the host Mavericks into the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination regional. Minnesota State-Mankato will hope to stave off elimination with a game today against Henderson State (AR) at 2 P-M. The Mavericks are 49-7 on the season, while Henderson State is 32-23. The winner of this game will move on to another loser’s bracket game tomorrow at 2 P-M. The loser of today’s game will have its season end. Arkansas-Monticello will play Pittsburg State (KS) in the winner’s bracket game tonight at 7 P-M in Mankato.
(Undated/Minnesota News Network) — The Saint Mary’s softball team opened the N-C-A-A Division III Regional with a 5-2 win over Husson (ME) yesterday in Winona. The Cardinals improved to 40-3 on the season and will face Simpson (IA) today at 11 A-M in Winona. The visiting Storm are 32-7 after beating DePauw (IN) in the opening round yesterday 9-5. Elsewhere, Bethany Lutheran lost an opening round Regional matchup to Illinois Wesleyan 6-3 yesterday in Bloomington, Illinois. The Vikings dipped to 28-14 and will play an elimination game today against Greenville (IL) at 1:30 P-M. Both regionals are double elimination with competition continuing into tomorrow.
