NCAA D3 Basketball Tournament gets underway
(Undated) — The N-C-A-A Division III men’s and women’s national basketball tournaments get underway tonight and will have some Minnesota flavor. MIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament champion Saint John’s has qualified for the tourney and will face the University of Chicago on tonight at 6:30 P-M in an opening round game in the Windy City. The Johnnies are 24-3 on the season. U-MAC tourney champion Bethany Lutheran will play Illinois Wesleyan in a first-round game in Chicago today at 4 P-M. The Vikings are 14-13 on the season. The winners of those two games will meet on Saturday in a second round matchup at 6:30 P-M. The Gustavus Adolphus women’s team will host a four-team regional starting tonight. The 26-1 Gusties will take on Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday night at 7:30 P-M. In addition, the Bethel women’s team earned an at-large berth and will face DePauw (IN) on this afternoon at 4:30 P-M in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
