Neto and Trout lead Angels to 4-3 win over Twins

ANAHEIM, CA— Zach Neto belted a two-run homer, Mike Trout drove in two runs, and the Los Angeles Angels edged the Minnesota Twins 4-3 on Wednesday.

Trout delivered the game-winning sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, bringing home Bryce Teodosio, who had tripled off the center-field wall over James Outman’s head. Earlier, Trout hit an RBI single in the third and then scored on Neto’s 26th home run of the season, giving the Angels a 3-1 lead.

Minnesota responded in the sixth when Byron Buxton tied the game with his 31st home run of the year, a two-run shot. Outman also had a strong game for the Twins, recording a home run, a double, and two impressive leaping catches. However, the Twins fell to 64-82, ensuring their first losing season since 2022.

Robert Stephenson (2-0) recorded one out in relief to earn the win for Los Angeles. Kenley Jansen closed the game with a perfect ninth inning, striking out two for his 27th save. Cole Sands (3-4) took the loss for Minnesota.

Twins starter Taj Bradley allowed three runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out five. Minnesota struggled offensively, stranding 11 runners and going 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
