NEW INFORMATION AND CHARGES ON ST. PETER ESCAPEES
St. Peter police have released new information and charges for two escapees from the St. Peter Sex Offender Program. The first escape happened May 9 when police were informed that Beau-Jacob Edward Zimmer had escaped the facility. The criminal complaint says Zimmer had cut off his ankle monitor and fled on a bicycle. Police found Zimmer four miles west of St. Peter after a caller reported a suspicious man. He has been charged with felony escape from custody. Seven days later, authorities were notified that Steven Loren Edwards had escaped. The criminal complaint says Edwards placed a dummy in his bed wearing his ankle monitor. He got a ride to Albert Lea, bought a car and drove to Missouri. Local authorities spotted the car at Edwards’ mother and he was arrested. He is also facing charges of felony escaping of custody.
