New LSS Youth Resource Center Now Open in Willmar
(Willmar, MN) Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) Thursday announced the opening of its new LSS Youth Resource Center in Willmar, supporting young people up to 24 years old, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
Officials say the resource center, located at Bethel Lutheran Church, serves youth from eight counties in Southwestern Minnesota – Kandiyohi, Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, McLeod, Meeker, Renville and Swift counties.
The space, originally built for Sunday school, was renovated to offer a safe space and welcoming environment.
Officials say they can access community support and essential resources, and build trusting relationships.
The youth resource center provides a kitchen, food pantry, access to warm meals, a clothing closet, laundry room, shower, computer lab, printer, free Wi-Fi and a communal gathering space.
