New Ulm City Council Approves 20th South Construction

The New Ulm City Council approved a bid from GM Contracting for over $4.5-million to completely re-do a portion of 20th South Street.  Two bids were received and GM Contracting’s bid came in at 3.3-percent under what City Engineers had estimated the project would cost.  City Engineer Joe Stadheim says the project will be a complete utility and roadway reconstruction of 20th South Street from Broadway to the Minnesota River bridge.  The project is scheduled to start in either late April or early May and take an estimated four to five months to complete.
