No Injuries in Meeker County Fire

A house, garage, and shed were destroyed by a fire in Meeker County early Sunday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office says at about 3:17am, they received a report of a house fire in the 31000 block of CSAH 2 in Forest City Township.

On arrival, deputies saw the house, garage, and a nearby shed were engulfed in flames.

Deputies learned three adults, 24-year-old Shelby Holder, 24-year-old Alexis Karie, and 25-year-old James Loehrer, and four juveniles were in the house at the time.

Authorities say the house did not have smoke detectors however, one of the occupants awoke to discover the fire and everyone got out without injury.

It’s believed the fire was due to a wood-burning stove in the garage.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants.
