NO ONE HURT IN LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP HOUSE FIRE

The New Ulm and Lafayette Fire Departments were called to a house fire at 58608 County Road 21 in Lafayette Township Thursday morning at 11:05.  New Ulm Fire Chief Paul Macho says when crews arrived, the north side of the house was fully engulfed extending to the interior of the house.  There was a single occupant who had got out before firefighters arrived.   Macho said the fire started outside but the cause is still under investigation.  There was heavy damage to the house.  Crews had the fire under control in about 45 minutes and remained on the scene for about 3 hours.  No injuries were reported.  The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
