NO ONE HURT IN NEW ULM APARTMENT BOILER EXPLOSION

The New Ulm Fire Department was called to a reported explosion this (Tuesday) morning at the New Ulm Apartments at 320 19th North around 8:20 this (Tuesday) morning.  The fire department says that all occupants had safety evacuated the building which was filled with steam.  The explosion was due to an over-pressurized boiler located on the first floor.  The boiler room and first and second floor hallways were damaged.  Smoke alarms were working and officials say there were no injuries.  The building was ventilated and the fire and police departments were on scene for about 30 minutes.  The New Ulm Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and public utilities assisted at the scene.
