NYA man and KGLB host presented award

On Wednesday, September 10th Elroy Latzig, of Norwood Young America, was the recipient of an award in philanthropy at the Chaska Event Center. Each year, the Community Foundation for Carver County recognizes individuals for their commitment to service and consistent support to community causes.

Latzig was a school board member for over 20 years, has served on the Stiftungsfest Committee for decades, is a longtime election judge, heavily involved in his church and has supported many other causes over the years close to his heart.  In addition to this, Latzig has been a co-host of Norwood Young America Talk for the past 15 years on AM 1310, KGLB in Glencoe.

“Elroy has been a true treasure to his local communities,” said KGLB General Manager & NYA Talk co-host Jeremy Stender. “For all the positive things you hear about Elroy doing, I don’t think people understand just how much he contributes behind the scenes when the lights aren’t flashing.”

Stender introduced Latzig at the banquet last Wednesday evening, much to his surprise.  “I knew Jeremy was likely going to be at the program, but I was definitely surprised when I saw him walk to the podium,” he said.

Stender and Latzig have hosted over 800 Norwood Young America Talk programs together dating back to 2010.
