OMNIBUS HEARING IN WINDOM MURDER RESCHEDULED

An omnibus hearing has been rescheduled for the man accused of murder in Windom New Year’s Eve.  Court documents say the prosecution and defense in the case involving 26-year-old No Name Given Happy of San Diego both requested a continuance to the omnibus hearing that was scheduled today (Friday).  The hearing is rescheduled for February 20.  Happy is charged with second-degree murder, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and three counts of felony threats of violence stemming from a stabbing  at the Phat Pheasant Pub  that killed 30-year-old Ben Matter of Windom.  Defense attorneys have given notice that Happy plans to claim self-defense and they also plan to file a motion for a change of venue.
