ONE ADULT DEAD, STUDENT CRITICALLY INJURED IN STEWARTVILLE SCHOOL PARKING LOT SHOOTING
One man is dead and a student critically injured after a shooting in the parking lot of Stewartville Middle/High School this (Friday) morning. Authorities were called at 5 am after receiving a call of shots fire while the wrestling team was boarding a bus. Police say the student, reportedly a member of the wrestling team, was shot and then the adult turned the gun on himself. He was found with a shotgun in his hand. The student was taken to Mayo Clinic in Rochester and is listed in “critical but stable condition.” Authorities say the family of the alleged shooter is cooperating. No names have been released and Stewartville schools were closed Friday. Authorities are working to identify the relationship between the student and the adult. The wrestling team was boarding a bus to go to a tournament in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
