One Injured in Sibley County Crash

One driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Sibley County Wednesday afternoon between a semi and passenger car.

The Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Kari Vassar of Winthrop was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

Authorities say a semi, driven by 36-year-old Samson Alemu of Springfield, Virginia, was traveling westbound on County Road 8, when he failed to stop at the intersection of County Road 4 and struck the Vassar vehicle that was traveling northbound on County Road 4.

Alemu was not injured.

The crash happened shortly after 12pm.
