ONE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER MOUNTAIN LAKE STANDOFF
Mountain Lake authorities are investigating a standoff Saturday night that ended with a man in custody. Mountain Lake police say officers were called to a home at 9:45 pm reporting a 32-year-old male holding a gun to their head. The man was believed to be highly intoxicated. Officers contacted the man’s wife who was home with him and their children. The wife convinced the man to exit the house alone where officers attempted to negotiate with the man. Authorities tried for several minutes with multiple requests for the man to show both hands which he refused to do. Officers ended up tasing the man allowing officers to take him into custody where he faces multiple charges. The investigation is continuing.
