Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Pickup in Sibley County

A man died after he was hit by a vehicle as he walked in rural Sibley County early Friday morning just south of Gibbon.

The Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Dino Bastian of rural Gibbon was walking south on County Road 2 when he was hit by a southbound pickup driven by 47-year-old Timothy Jon Albrecht of Gibbon.

Bastian died at the scene.

Albrecht was not injured.

The incident happened just after 2:30am.
