PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN LYON COUNTY

A 58-year-old woman was killed Tuesday after she was struck by a vehicle in Clifton Township in Lyon County Tuesday evening.  Authorities say they were called at 5:21 pm to the 3200 block of 240th Street and found a woman with critical injuries.  Despite life-saving efforts by Marshall North Ambulance and sheriff’s office personnel, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  She was identified as Michelle Simmons of rural Marshall.  The driver, a 20-year-old man from rural Marshall wasn’t hurt.  The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating with help from the state patrol.
