Pheasant season opens this weekend
(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota’s pheasant hunting season kicks off this Saturday, marking a long-standing tradition that also brings a significant economic boost to communities across the state. Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Sarah Strommen says outdoor recreation is a significant contributor to Minnesota’s economy, generating 11-billion-dollars annually, and hunting alone accounts for hundreds of millions of dollars, supporting businesses around the state. This year’s Governor’s Pheasant Opener will be held in Ortonville, located in western Minnesota. The event celebrates the cultural and economic importance of hunting while promoting conservation and outdoor engagement.
