Prairie Harvest Fest Announces Grand Marshals; List of Events

Longtime teachers Jim and Peg Greenwaldt will be the Grand Marshals of the Prairie Harvest Fest parade, which will march down Atlantic Avenue in Morris at 4 p.m. Saturday. Peg Greenwaldt teaches 3rd Grade at Morris Area Elementary School and is in her 27th year of teaching. Jim Greenwaldt taught high school social studies for 38 years, 33 of them at Morris Area High School before retiring this past spring.

Other Prairie Harvest Fest events on Saturday at the Stevens County Fairgrounds include Craft and Retail Vendors in the Lee Community Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; a Car Seat Clinic at Gate 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; a Kids Mini Market in the Lee Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; a dunk tank, bunny bounce bingo, rock climbing, face painting, the car show running from 12 to 3:30 p.m., a Footnotes dance performance at 1 p.m. at the free stage, a Ninja course from 1 to 4 p.m., Clueless the Balloon Twister from 1 to 4 p.m.; archery shooting from 1 to 4 p.m., a Kids Pedal Pull at 2 p.m. by the Grandstands; Bazooka Ball, Laser Tag and Axe Throwing will run from 3 to 6 p.m.; a Demo Derby at 5 p.m.; and fireworks at dusk.

On Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m. will be the Pancake Feed at the Morris Fire Hall. The free will donation event raises money for the Morris Fire Department.
