Pres. Trump Threatens to Invoke Insurrection Act Against Minnesota

(Learfield News/Undated) – President Donald Trump is threatening to send the military to Minnesota in response to anti-ICE protests.

Trump posted on social media, “If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT.”

Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and Police Chief Brian O’Hara have been calling for peaceful protests, and most have been.

O’Hara said protesters did throw fireworks, rocks, and ice at officers near Wednesday night’s ICE shooting of a suspect in north Minneapolis.
