Rescheduled date for the City of Morris and its Tree Board’s annual Community Tree Planting Event

The rescheduled date for the City of Morris and its Tree Board’s annual Community Tree Planting Event will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at the Pomme de Terre Park Campground. The event celebrates Arbor Month and our community’s trees. Organizers noted that Pomme de Terre Park lost many big trees to storms in 2022 and 2023. The group will be planting 30 percent more trees than last year, but the trees will be smaller than last year and easier to handle. Participants are asked to bring a shovel and gloves, if possible. Snacks will be provided and there will be a free hot dog supper at the end. Besides the tree planting, volunteers are also needed at the registration table, passing out vests, and helping with snacks. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event.
