Rice Man Dead After Car Goes Into Lake

(Stearns County, MN) — A Rice man is dead after he crashed into a Stearns County lake. Deputies responded to a call around 8:32 p.m. Thursday, reporting a vehicle in Horseshoe Lake with a person believed to be inside.

The site was on Edgeton Road, about four miles south of Richmond.

Crews worked to remove twenty-three-year-old Tate Lehnen from the vehicle.

The man was brought to shore, and lifesaving measures were taken, but he was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Deputies believe he was driving east when the car overcorrected in a left-hand curve, crossing into oncoming traffic, and hitting a steep ditch that led into the lake.
