Rita Lorraine Sticha

Rita Lorraine Sticha, age 74, of Lonsdale, MN passed away peacefully at her home on March 19, 2024. She was born October 18, 1949 in Rice County Minnesota to parents, Eugene and Delores (Cate) Thielbar.

Rita was a kind, soft, loving soul who spent her young adult years parenting her children, baking, gardening, and canning, sewing a bit and reading. As her children grew, she devoted her working life to the shipping department at Sheldahl in Northfield, MN. She also enjoyed being a loving and supportive wife to her husband Rey. He inspired her to become a member of the legion auxiliary, relax at a cabin, catch some fish and yell ‘strike’ at the local bowling alley! He lovingly brought her to join in all Sticha activities. Sauerkraut!

Sadly, she was preceded in death by this loving husband, Reynold Sticha, as well as her parents, her son Doug, an infant brother, also named Doug, sister Cindy Bauer, sister-in-law Liz Thalhuber, brothers-in-law Ronald (RJ) and LeRoy Sticha, and niece Kym El-Wailli.

The family surviving and missing her dearly are daughter Brenda Filipek and grandchildren Brandon Filipek, Brianna Stradinger, Blake Filipek (Laura) and Brittini Filipek. Daughter, Chris Clausen (Doug Peterson) and granddaughter Melanie Clausen and step-grandsons Brandon and Tucker Peterson. Brother Leonard (Karen) Thielbar, sisters Elaine (Mike) Grove, Pat (Ralph) Medder and Dee(Ron) Filzen, sisters-in-law Arline Sticha, Fran Sticha and Bonnie(Lyndon)Code, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins from each her family of origin and those gifted her through marriage.

Please join us, April 26, 2024, at Trondhjem Lutheran Church, as we honor Rita with at 10:00 AM Memorial and 11:00 AM church service. We will proceed to Calvary Cemetery following service.  Lunch will be served as we return to the church following the burial at Calvary.
