Rosemary Louise Woell

Rosemary L. Woell, age 93, of Battle Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Morris, MN, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Good Samaritan.

Memorial Mass for Rosemary Louise Woell will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake, MN, with Father Leroy Schick officiating.

Honorary urnbearers are her grandchildren: Paul, Mark, Michael, and Elizabeth Woell, Matthew, Mark, and Ben Miller, Nick Woell, Katie and Hannah Woell, Courtney and Ellen Horkey.

Interment will be held at a later date in Christ the King Cemetery in Browerville, MN.

Rosemary was born August 2, 1930, in Arcadia, Wisconsin, to Frank and Louise Krumholz.  In 1948, she attended the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph, MN, and on January 5, 1952, she married John E. Woell at Bryan A.F.B. in Bryan, Texas.  The couple moved back to Minnesota in 1956, where they lived in Plummer, Herman, and Morris. During this time Mr. Woell taught school. In 1988, she retired from being a dental receptionist in Morris, where she was active in the choir and taught CCD at Assumption Church. After retirement, Rosemary and John moved to the Battle Lake area.

Rosemary‘s cherished times were spent with her husband and family at their home on Middle Lake. Among her favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing, reading, and traveling.

She is survived by her children: John Woell (Marcia), Christine Grierson (Bruce), William Woell, Jeffrey Woell and Julie Horkey (Tom) and her fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dr. Francis Cyprian Krumholz and Louise Dorothy Reuter; brothers George, Paul, and Francis; and her sisters: Barbara and Carol.

Arrangements are with Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, MN.
