Rossi’s OT goal completes Wild’s 4-3 comeback victory over Red Wings

DETROIT, MI – Marco Rossi delivered a thrilling overtime goal with just 1:25 remaining, securing a 4-3 win for the Minnesota Wild against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. After serving a hooking penalty, Rossi broke out of the penalty box and seized the opportunity for a breakaway, sending a shot that barely crossed the goal line for the game-winner.

Matt Boldy contributed with a goal and an assist as Minnesota mounted a comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the third period. Marcus Foligno and Vinnie Hinostroza also found the back of the net, while Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves to back the victory.

Detroit’s Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, and Lucas Raymond each tallied a goal and an assist. Larkin’s 13th power-play goal of the season tied him with Jake Guentzel and Brayden Point of Tampa Bay for the league lead.

Red Wings’ Andrew Copp recorded his 300th career point with a first-period assist in his 700th game. Cam Talbot kept Detroit in the game with 35 saves but couldn’t prevent the loss.

Despite missing their star player Kirill Kaprizov, who has been out with a lower-body injury for seven games, the Wild continue to thrive. Minnesota has gone 5-2 during Kaprizov’s absence. Unfortunately for Copp, he was injured late in the second period during a scuffle and did not return to the game.
