Rural Litchfield Man Shot in Arm

A rural Litchfield man was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon in Darwin Township.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says at about noon, they received a medical call from the 64100 Block of Highway 12 that 48-year-old Joseph Bogatzki had been shot.

Authorities say Bogatzki and his co-workers were handling a firearm that they found while they were dismantling a vehicle when the firearm accidentally discharged.

Bogatzki was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening wound.
