RURAL MANKATO FARMER DIES IN TRACTOR ACCIDENT

Authorities in Blue Earth County say a rural Mankato man is the victim of a fatal tractor accident.  Deputies responded to a call at a farm in Lime Township Monday afternoon for the report of a man being run over by a tractor.  Investigators say it appears the tractor accidentally started while it was in gear and 82-year-old Gerald Fredericks was standing near a rear tire.  First responders tried to save him but Fredericks died at the scene.
