Saint Mary’s continues quest for National title today

(Bloomington, IL/Minnesota News Network) — The Saint Mary’s softball team is one of eight teams set to participate in this week’s N-C-A-A Division III Softball World Series in Bloomington, Illinois. The 44-5 Cardinals will play a national quarterfinal game against Linfield (OR) at 1:30 P-M this afternoon. Linfield is 43-5 on the season. The winning team will play in the winner’s bracket tomorrow, while the loser of today’s opening round drops to the loser’s bracket with a game tomorrow. Saint Mary’s advanced to the championship tournament with a pair of Super Regional wins over Wisconsin-Whitewater last week in Winona.
